If I didn’t have this meditation practice, I wouldn’t last in today’s world.
Even though I had been practicing meditation for many years with great teachers, I never took to heart their continual emphasis on building stability.
I had a haphazard approach. I thought meditation was the art of building stability, but I was wrong about that. Meditation is many things, and building stability is a single part of the big picture. Building stability is learned as a separate art, and it brings power and clarity to every other part.
But you have to learn the art of stability. It won’t happen on it’s own!
When my mind wouldn’t cooperate, I tried harder. I focused more. But this had no lasting effect and I wondered if I had something terribly wrong with me. Maybe it was all those years watching television?
It wasn’t that. I simply had not understood that meditation has a methodical approach for building true stability as a bedrock for everything that comes later.
My mind was untamed. I was easily distracted, and the meditation that worked so well for them was not working for me. I was inspired, but my concentration was fragile.

Independant Practice: Short 10 minute meditation sessions daily.
